SUMMARY:Drama Reading in Persian
DESCRIPTION:Theatre · Play · Absurd \n\n \n\nRhinoceros — Eugène Ionesco\nRhinoceros is one of the defining works of Absurd theatre. In a quiet town\, people begin transforming into rhinoceroses—one by one—until only one man struggles to remain human.\nA powerful exploration of conformity\, collective pressure\, and the courage to resist. \nAbout the play \n\n \n\nIn Rhinoceros\, the strange transformation is not merely surreal\, it is a metaphor for how society can gradually surrender to uniformity\, extremism\, and blind acceptance.\nThe central character\, Bérenger\, faces fear\, doubt\, and isolation as those around him change\, yet he fights to preserve his humanity. \nThis performance invites audiences to experience a modern classic live on stage\, tense\, darkly humorous\, and filled with questions that remain urgent today. \n\nShort Synopsis\nRumors spread that a rhinoceros has been seen running through town. Soon\, sightings become common and then townspeople themselves begin turning into rhinoceroses.\nAs the herd grows\, resistance becomes more difficult\, and remaining human becomes a profound moral choice. \n\n\nAbout the Playwright\nEugène Ionesco was one of the leading figures of Absurd theatre. Through dark humor and seemingly impossible situations\,\nhis works confront fundamental questions about language\, truth\, mass psychology\, and the anxieties of modern life.

SUMMARY:Maktoub
DESCRIPTION:Maktoub\nMaktoub is an original instrumental project composed and led by internationally recognized oud virtuoso Ahmed Maher. \nRooted in Arabic maqam and in conversation with jazz form\, the music unfolds through a balance of composed structures and live improvisation. Written material offers a frame\, while improvisation opens space for risk\, presence\, and collective authorship to reshape the music in real time. \nThe title maktoub\, meaning “written” or “destined” in Arabic\, names a central paradox of the work: what feels predetermined is continuously rewritten through encounter. Borders\, whether musical or cultural\, are treated not as fixed lines but as permeable spaces where new identities and shared experiences can emerge. \nRecorded between Cairo and Vancouver\, Maktoub draws from Maher’s lived experience of movement\, displacement\, and belonging. The music reflects an ongoing inner process\, where memory and immediacy coexist\, and where the idea of “home” remains fluid and evolving. \nThis performance offers a rare pre-release glimpse of the project ahead of the album launch in June 2026\, presented in an intimate setting that foregrounds listening\, interaction\, and the energy of live creation. \nFeaturing:\nAhmed Maher | Oud\nGeoff Claridge | Bass Clarinet\nConrad Good | Double Bass\nAtin Cheraghchi | Percussion

DESCRIPTION:Join us for an intimate evening of powerful\, cross-cultural music as Ehab Guitarrista and Lache Cercel present their new collaborative project . \nEhab Guitarrista is known for a deeply expressive flamenco-based style that flows naturally into jazz\, Roma\, Oriental\, and classical influences. Inspired by masters like Paco de Lucía\, Vicente Amigo\, and Antonio Rey\, his playing combines strong rhythm with lyrical\, emotional melodies. \nLache Cercel\, born in Bucharest and trained at Romania’s Academy of Arts\, is a celebrated violin virtuoso whose music is rooted in Roma tradition and enriched with Doina\, Klezmer\, Middle Eastern and European sounds\, all carried by the freedom of jazz improvisation. His style\, often called Roma Swing\, is joyful\, fiery\, and deeply moving. \nAccompanied by 2 of Canadas finest musicians\nMichael rush : Bass\nDavide sampaolo : Percussion \nTogether\, their music becomes a true conversation — guitar and violin trading stories\, rhythms\, and spontaneous ideas. Some moments are fast and full of fire\, others quiet and reflective\, but always connected and alive in the moment. \nThis concert is designed for anyone who loves:\n• flamenco and gypsy jazz\n• world music with strong rhythm and emotion\n• live performances where musicians truly interact and create in real time \nZameen Art House offers a close\, listening-focused atmosphere\, making this show feel less like a big concert and more like being invited into a special musical gathering. \nCome spend the evening with us and experience this new collaboration in a space where the music can breathe and the audience feels part of the journey. \nDon’t miss this show and get your Tickets now!
