SUMMARY:Nomadic Flamenco Jazz
DESCRIPTION:Experience a musical voyage like no other with Nomadic Flamenco Jazz\, a captivating trio that defies borders and reimagines the essence of flamenco. \nEmerging from the heart of Spain—the cradle of flamenco—award-winning flutist and bansuri virtuoso Lara Wong and celebrated Spanish guitarist Melón Jiménez weave a rich tapestry of influences\, from Andalusia to India to the soul of modern jazz. Together\, they shape a sound that is at once rooted in tradition and boundlessly exploratory. Their music pulses with improvisational fire\, lyrical depth\, and a universal spirit that speaks across cultures. \nJoining them is boundary-breaking cellist George Crotty\, whose genre-bending voice—shaped in New York’s vibrant jazz and world music scenes—adds a soulful\, dynamic dimension to this global conversation in sound. \n\nAbout the Artists\nLara Wong (Canada) made flamenco history as the first woman and foreigner to win the Filón Minero for Best Flamenco Instrumentalist at Spain’s prestigious Festival Cante de las Minas. A master of both the Western concert flute and Indian bansuri\, Lara bridges East and West with fluid grace. \nMelón Jiménez (Spain)\, born into a Gitano flamenco family\, has collaborated with legends such as Anoushka Shankar\, Enrique Morente\, and Jorge Pardo. His guitar playing is as much storytelling as sound—earthy\, fiery\, and endlessly inventive. \nGeorge Crotty (USA) brings his unique cello voice from jazz clubs to classical halls\, performing with the likes of Brooklyn Raga Massive\, Paquito D’Rivera\, and the National Arab Orchestra. His music fuses groove\, tradition\, and spontaneity in thrilling new ways. \n\nSince their formation in Madrid in 2021\, Nomadic Flamenco Jazz has enchanted audiences across Europe\, North America\, Asia\, and Africa\, with over 100 performances on world-renowned stages including the National Arts Centre\, Blue Note Shanghai\, Suma Flamenca\, Vancouver Folk Festival\, and SunFest. \nTheir debut album\, released in October 2024\, was met with critical acclaim and earned a JUNO Award nomination for Instrumental Album of the Year. \n\n  \n \n  \nDon’t miss this unforgettable night of transcendent musical fusion.\n🎫 Tiered Tickets – The Earlier\, The Better!\nPrices increase as the event approaches\, so don’t wait—secure your spot now and be part of the journey as Nomadic Flamenco Jazz brings their boundary-crossing sound to Vancouver.\n \n  \nZameen Club Members get 15% discount on this event\, as well as every other Zameen event.\n\n
