Fahrettin Yarkın is a traditional Turkish percussion player, retired from TRT Istanbul Radio. He had concerts and CDs with Jordi Savall, Haris Alexiou, Teo Leovendi, Panagiotis Neochoritis, Jack DeJohnette, Rova Saxophone Quartet and many more. He has a book called ‘The Usuls in Turkish Music’ in three languages (Turkish, Greek and English), four albums with his own band, Yarkın Turkish Rhythm Group and many albums he contributed to.
Baturay Yarkın is a Dr. Lecturer, classical based tango & jazz pianist, composer and arranger. He performed in many jazz & tango festivals in Europe, Asia, USA and the UK. He taught in the jazz department of Istanbul University State Conservatory between 2018-2024. In April 2018, he gave a concert at Boston University and a workshop “Makams, Scales, Forms and Rhythmic Patterns in Turkish Music” at Berklee College of Music with his sister, Nağme Yarkın. He has 8 personal albums and many albums he contributed to.
