Balkanaria – Koomeh 3

Balkanaria is the only professional group of its type in Canada. They specialize in Bulgarian folk music, rooted in soulful melodies, driving dance rhythms, rich harmony, and improvisation. Balkanaria presents rich and varied repertoire with a contemporary vision: honoring tradition for a modern, global audience. They play traditional songs and instrumental music for dances, community events, concerts, and festivals, among others. They have performed throughout the Lower Mainland, Victoria, and Seattle, WA. Kosta Bozhinov is the founder, accordionist, and music director of Balkanaria.
