About the Event
Acclaimed Cuban guitarist, composer, and arranger Josué Tacoronte presents a concert that captures the full cultural and folkloric essence of the place where he was born and where the guitar has taken him.
Born in Havana and classically trained at the Amadeo Roldán National Conservatory, Tacoronte has developed a distinctive musical voice that brings the essence of Cuban traditions into dialogue with Spanish flamenco and other Latin American influences.
Tacoronte is joined by multi-instrumentalist Michael Rush on upright bass, renowned in Vancouver’s local jazz scene, and Jeremy Berkman, principal trombonist with the Vancouver Opera Orchestra.
