About the event
Cyanotype is a historic photographic process known for its rich blue tones and striking botanical prints. In this hands-on workshop, guided by Azar & Maryam, participants will learn how the process works and create their own prints using leaves, flowers, and other natural materials.
Cyanotypes can be exposed using natural sunlight or UV light, so the magic can happen even on a cloudy Vancouver day.
Beginner-friendly, relaxed, and creative. All materials are provided, and no previous experience is needed.
What to expect
- An introduction to the history and simple chemistry of cyanotype
- Composing prints with leaves, flowers, and other natural materials
- Exposing your prints with sunlight or UV light
- Rinsing and developing to reveal the deep Prussian blue
- Taking home your own botanical prints
