A concert exploring a generation of Iranian composers whose work was significant to the development of Iran’s modern musical culture during an important period in the country’s history. Featuring violin–piano and cello-piano duets by Souren Arakelian, Hossein Nassehi, Hossein Dehlavi, and Mohammad Taghi Massoudieh, the program traces this musical period from 1921 through the 60s, inviting listeners to rediscover repertoire that is now rarely performed and, in some cases, remains unrecorded.
The concert concludes with a piano trio by Armin Sanayei, bringing the three musicians together to explore the voice of a living composer.
