Cycles of Time
A Tabla Solo by Tejas Tope

Established Indian classical percussionist Tejas Tope explores tālas—the intricate cycles of time in the Hindustani music tradition—through both improvisation and traditional repertoire in this intimate recital.

Based in New York, Tejas has studied tabla for over two decades under his guru Pandit Samir Chatterjee, as well as the late Ustad Zakir Hussain. He has performed with eminent artists including Ustad Shujaat Khan, Pandit Krishna Bhatt, Pandit Arun Dravid, and alongside Ustad Zakir Hussain as part of the Masters of Percussion tour.

Tejas has presented tabla solos at some of the most prestigious venues across North America and India. He will be joined by Kishan Patel on harmonium, providing lehera (time-keeping accompaniment).
