Argentine Tango for Beginners: A 3-Hour Introductory Workshop
Meet Your Instructor:
Sasha Cooke
Sasha is a professionally trained dancer with over 20 years of movement experience. Having lived and studied tango in the milongas of Buenos Aires, Argentina, she carries a deep respect for the dance and the culture it grew out of.
Her teaching is based on biotensegrity principles and a holistic understanding of the body, creating a simple, integrated and accessible path for beginners to discover and enjoy tango.
Sasha has studied with some of the world’s best teachers in Argentina and Europe, including Jonathan Saavedra & Clarisa Aragon, Chicho Frumboli & Juana Sepúlveda, Gianpiero Galdi & Lorena Tarantino, and locally with Albano Goldenberg. She is currently completing her teacher training under the guidance of Corina De La Rosa.
She is also a certified Pilates & Yoga Teacher, bringing additional depth and body awareness to her instruction.
Daniel Ontiveros
With 10 years of tango experience and over 4 years of teaching, Daniel brings both artistic excellence and educational expertise to every class. Having performed on theater stages across Mexico, Vancouver, and Victoria in both salon and escenario styles, they understand tango as a complete art form. Daniel has shared their passion for tango at venues throughout Vancouver, including at UBC, with a teaching philosophy centered on solid fundamentals, natural biomechanics, and authentic connection. Their approach transforms technical precision gained from years of professional performance into accessible, enjoyable learning experiences that help students discover their own tango voice from the very first class.
