Over five immersive sessions, you’ll edit real footage, study the language of cinema, and gain the tools to craft your own short film using Adobe Premiere Pro.
This hands-on course blends technical skills with cinematic analysis — teaching not just how to edit, but why editing choices matter.

Session 1: The Editor’s Role – Premiere & Cinema Language
Premiere Pro Skills:
- Setting up a new project
- Frame rates, resolutions, and aspect ratios
- Understanding frames in cinema (C.U., M.S., etc.)
- Linear vs. non-linear editing
- Interface tour: Timeline, Tools, Source/Program Monitor
- Organizing footage using bins
Cinema Concepts:
- What is film editing?
- The editor as storyteller and sculptor of time
- Editing as an invisible art: emotional rhythm
🎬 Session 2: Project Setup & Basic Editing
Premiere Pro Skills:
- Importing media & creating sequences
- Editing tools (snapping, selection, undo/redo)
Cinema Concepts:
- Rules of classical Hollywood editing
- The invisible cut: continuity & flow
- 180-degree rule, eyeline match, shot/reverse shot
- Scene analysis
🕰 Session 3: Rhythm of Emotion – Pacing & Timing
Premiere Pro Skills:
- Ripple, Roll, Slip & Slide tools
- Using markers & duplicates for timing
- Trimming for emotional pacing
Cinema Concepts:
- Editing as rhythm and musicality
- Montage theory and techniques
- Scene analysis
✨ Session 4: Visual Effects & Transitions
Premiere Pro Skills:
- Intro to transitions
- Working with basic effects
- Audio syncing & level adjustments
- Adding fades, ambiances, and sound design
