VINTA: The 2026 Tour — Vancouver
An electrifying night of Western European traditional music—fiddles, accordion, clarinet, and double bass—reimagined with bold arrangements and irresistible dance energy.
About the artists
Vinta is a collective of four brilliant performers at the cutting edge of Western European traditional music in Canada. After nearly a decade of crossing paths at fiddle jams around Toronto, they formed this quartet to bring new intensity to old tunes—and grow new tunes from old sources.
A band of multi-instrumentalists and genuine scholars, Vinta’s music moves from the romantic sweep of waltzes and mazurkas to wilder, more ethereal rural dance tunes—powerful, profound, and fiercely danceable.
Their debut album Beacons earned them Instrumental Composers of the Year at the 2024 Canadian Folk Music Awards.
Press
“Vinta provides a huge breath of fresh air with their wonderful, creative reimagining of Bal folk dance forms… their playing is uniformly top notch… always finding the right unanimous groove. Brilliant!”
— James Stephens, Artistic Director, Gatineau Hills Fiddle Festival
