Discover the art of jewelry making by transforming soft wax into your own custom ring. In this relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of wax carving while creating a unique design that can later be cast into sterling silver.
About the workshop
Wax carving is one of the most exciting techniques in jewelry making, allowing you to sculpt your ideas before they’re transformed into precious metal. During this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to carve, shape, and refine a wax ring using professional jewelry tools in a welcoming studio environment.
You’ll begin by learning the basics of ring sizing and carving techniques before customizing your design with textures, fingerprints, initials, patterns, or other personal details that make your ring completely one of a kind.
No previous experience is required. Whether you’re curious about jewelry making or simply looking for a creative afternoon, this workshop offers an enjoyable introduction to the craft. All tools, materials, and light refreshments are provided.
Duration: Approximately 3 hours (please allow up to 4 hours depending on each participant’s pace).
What you will learn
- Understand the basics of wax carving for jewelry making
- Learn ring sizing and proper proportions
- Shape, carve, and refine a wax ring using jewelry tools
- Create textures and decorative details on your design
- Personalize your ring with initials, fingerprints, or unique patterns
- Complete a finished wax model ready for optional sterling silver casting

Workshop Fee: CAD $85 per person

Included: All wax, carving tools, materials, and light refreshments.
Optional Sterling Silver Casting: After the workshop, you may choose to have your wax ring professionally cast in sterling silver for an additional fee. Your finished piece will be cast, cleaned, polished, and ready for pickup approximately two weeks after the workshop.
