An Evening of Solo Piano Music by Debussy, Gershwin, Scriabin, Rachmaninoff & More
About the Event
Explore the harmony and discord of early 20th century classical music in an intimate evening of solo piano music with pianist Silas Berlin.
The program brings together works by composers including Claude Debussy, George Gershwin, Alexander Scriabin, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and more. Along the way, Silas will share thoughts and remarks about the music, offering a closer look at the ideas, contrasts, and musical worlds behind the pieces.
Moving between impressionism, modernism, jazz influences, and the late Romantic tradition, the evening explores the changing language of the piano during a period of remarkable musical transformation.
