👩🎤 Meet Your Instructor: Saba Jamali
Saba Jamali is a distinguished Iranian Qanun player celebrated for her deep commitment to Iranian music. Her musical journey began at Tehran Music School and continued with a Bachelor’s degree in Iranian Music from the Art University of Tehran & Rasht. Under the mentorship of revered masters such as Farokh Mazhari, Malihe Saeedi, and Parichehr Khaje, Saba honed her skills and cultivated a profound understanding of the art form.
Throughout her career, Saba has been a vital member of prestigious ensembles, including the Dehlavi Orchestra, Mahbang, Rastak, and Jivar, bringing the unique sounds of the Qanun to audiences across the USA, Canada, Turkey, and Europe.
Saba’s passion extends beyond performance to music education, where she has collaborated with Narges Mehrabi to develop a Qanun teaching method specifically designed for children, nurturing a love for music in the younger generation.
Saba Jamali’s discography showcases her versatility and collaboration with various musicians and composers. Notable works include “Finding Faride” by Afshin Azizi and albums like “Beyond Eternal Sunshine” and “Bahar” with the Rastak music group. Her solo projects, such as “Arezoo,” composed by Ali Nafpour, and her collaboration with Malihe Saeedi on the “Hezar Gisoo” album, further underscore her dedication to her craft.
