A fun, beginner-friendly introduction to wax carving where you’ll create and personalize your own wax ring.
Learn the basics of ring sizing, shaping, and carving while adding your own creative touch with textures, fingerprints, initials, or other unique details to make your design truly one of a kind.
No experience needed, just bring your creativity! All tools and materials are included.
About the Workshop
Wax carving is a hands-on jewelry-making technique that allows you to shape and personalize your own ring design before transforming it into a wearable piece. During this workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of ring sizing, shaping, carving, and refining wax using jewelry-making tools.
You’ll have the opportunity to add your own creative details, including textures, fingerprints, initials, patterns, or other unique elements that make your ring completely one of a kind.
No previous experience is required. Whether you’re curious about jewelry making or simply looking for a fun and creative experience, this workshop is a welcoming introduction to the craft.
Duration: Approximately 3 hours (please allow up to 4 hours depending on each participant’s pace).
What You Will Learn
- Learn the basics of wax carving for jewelry making
- Understand ring sizing and proper proportions
- Shape, carve, and refine a wax ring using jewelry tools
- Create textures and decorative details on your design
- Personalize your ring with fingerprints, initials, patterns, or other unique details
- Complete a finished wax model ready for optional sterling silver casting

Time: 10:30 A.M. – 1:30 P.M.

Location: Zameen Art House, Granville Island · 1515 Anderson Street, Vancouver, BC
Workshop Fee: CAD $85 per person
Capacity: 6 participants
Level: Beginner-friendly
Included: All wax, carving tools, and materials.
Optional Sterling Silver Casting
If you’d like to turn your design into a wearable piece, your finished wax ring can be professionally cast in sterling silver for an additional fee.
Casting fee: CAD $70
Sterling silver: Charged separately based on the final weight of your ring.
Typical ring weight: 6–10 grams
Current silver price: Approximately $4 per gram, subject to market fluctuations.
Completed rings will be cast, cleaned, polished, and ready for pickup approximately two weeks after the workshop.
Limited spots: Only 6 participants per workshop to ensure personalized guidance. Early registration is recommended.
